We are a group of volunteers dedicated to remembering and commemorating the men & women of the 8th Air Force, in particular the 490th Bombardment Group who were moved to the UK to help with our war efforts in 1943.

East Anglia in the United Kingdom played a vital role in the war, being the home to many strategic bomber commands, large newly built aerodromes for heavy bomber aircraft like those piloted by the 490th, and top secret missions involving experimental aircraft and even primitive drones. There was a huge American presence here in Suffolk during the war and our job is to make sure the men, women, machinery, stories and memories live on for years to come.
